Access decoded and core blockchain data on Snowflake Marketplace
A few months ago we released our Ethereum Core Dataset available on Snowflake as a free experiment to gauge interest. The overwhelming response has prompted us to introduce two new datasets with enhanced features and pricing plans.
Our Ethereum Core dataset was made available to users as a trial, at no cost. This experimental phase allowed developers and users to explore and analyze core Ethereum data without any financial commitment. However, the response exceeded all expectations, which significantly drove up our data costs. While most of the team members at Credmark considered the experiment a resounding success, our Finance Director had some reservations.
To address the challenges faced during the experiment and align with the company's financial goals, Credmark is deprecating the original dataset and introducing two new alternatives:
The first new dataset, Ethereum-Core, is similar to the one users initially tested. The difference lies in the pricing structure. Users can continue to access the data for free, up until Jan 1st 2023, allowing developers and users to retrieve historical data. However, for access to the continuously updating 2023 data, a monthly fee of $500 will be charged. This new pricing covers our overhead to produce and maintain this dataset.
The second dataset, Ethereum - Decoded & Core, offers additional features that include decoded inputs and outputs of every validated smart contract. This enhanced dataset empowers users with detailed insights into the inner workings of Ethereum's smart contracts. Similar to Ethereum-Core, data is free up until 2023, while access to the constantly updated 2023 data will require a monthly subscription of $1,500. This pricing reflects the increased value as well as the additional costs required to maintain this dataset.
The shift in pricing structure has been a positive development for Credmark, ensuring that the data we provide are sustainable for our contributors and the community. By introducing subscription fees for accessing up-to-date data, Credmark can allocate resources effectively and continue to offer new products and higher-quality services to its users.
If you have been using the deprecated dataset, Credmark provides a one-month grace period during which it will still be available. However, to continue benefiting from Credmark's Ethereum data, it is crucial to switch to one of the new datasets before the grace period ends. This will ensure uninterrupted access to the latest data.
